English Tutoring

UCLA Iranian Student Group x PARS Equality Center Volunteer Program

Hello UCLA Students,

We are excited to announce a collaborative effort between ISG (Iranian Student Group) and PARS Equality Center to launch a volunteer program designed specifically for UCLA's Iranian student community. This initiative aims to foster a meaningful connection between our students and the older Iranian generation, creating a bridge through education and interaction.

Currently, we are offering roles as "English Tutors". In this capacity, you will have the flexibility to provide PARS with your available schedule for holding sessions. English learners from the community will then have the opportunity to sign up for lessons with you. These sessions can vary greatly, ranging from casual conversations to more structured activities like homework assistance or test preparation. The content of each lesson will be dynamically shaped by the needs and goals of your tutee.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand this initiative, introducing more avenues for UCLA students to engage and volunteer with PARS. However, we are starting this journey with English tutoring as our foundational program.

If this opportunity interests you, we invite you to complete the attached form. Here, you can share any previous tutoring experience you may have (though this is not a requirement), your availability, and your preference for conducting sessions either in-person or online.

This is more than just volunteering; it is a chance to make a real difference in someone's life while also enriching your own. We look forward to your participation.
